Toffee Blond Brownies

You will see how the toffee bits melt during baking and give the thin, gooey brownies a crunchy topping.


1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup egg substitute
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
Cooking spray
1/4 cup toffee baking bits (such as Heath)

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°.

Step 2

Combine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl; stir with a whisk.

Step 3

Lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring cup; level with a knife.

Step 4

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt.

Step 5

Add flour mixture to sugar mixture; stir just until moist.

Step 6

Spread batter in an 8-inch square baking pan coated with cooking spray.

Step 7

Sprinkle with toffee bits.

Step 8

Bake at 350° for 22 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out almost clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack.


You can store, covered, for up to 3 days.
