Sour Cream Coffee Cake

This sour cream coffee cake is baked in a tube pan, layered with cinnamon nut mixture.


1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Beat in sour cream and vanilla. Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; stir into creamed mixture.

In another bowl, combine cinnamon, sugar, and chopped pecans.

Grease a tube pan and dust with flour. Pour half of the batter into the pan; sprinkle with half of the nut mixture. Add remaining batter; sprinkle with remaining nut mixture. Bake coffeecake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
